Stanford Choral Music

Stanford Middle School has a long history of music excellence, including its award winning choirs.  The chorus program at Stanford includes six choral groups.  Girls are placed based on their grade level into Junior, Intermediate, or Advanced Chorus.  Boys in 6th-8th grade meet in two class periods that combine during performances to form Varsity Chorus.  Students may also audition to join the Performing Arts Ensemble as 8th graders.  These groups all perform in a Fall and Spring concert, as well as an annual musical.  The year ends by attending festival to be judged and a celebration at Knott's Berry Farm.

Students work throughout the year on vocal production, music theory, and performance skills.  They also learn about music history, different styles and cultures.  Students are working towards becoming literate musicians through activities such as sight reading and learning new songs throughout the year.
